Meeting between the President of Turkmenistan and the Emperor of Japan

Today, as part of a working visit to Japan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
Warmly welcoming the distinguished guest, the Emperor of the friendly nation expressed confidence that this—the Turkmen leader's second visit to Japan—would become another significant step toward further strengthening and expanding interstate cooperation. Availing himself of the opportunity, the Emperor conveyed sincere greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words and hospitality, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted his pleasure in meeting the Emperor for the second time this year. The Head of State took the opportunity to convey greetings and best wishes from the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag.
It was emphasized that 2025, declared by the United Nations General Assembly as the "International Year of Peace and Trust," is also marked by the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality. Recently, Ashgabat hosted an International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the glorious anniversary of the country’s neutrality, and International Neutrality Day. The participation of heads of state, governments, and international organizations in the Forum served as a clear testament to the growing importance of peace, trust, and effective dialogue in the contemporary system of international relations.
Heartily congratulating President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the successful hosting of such a high-level Forum, Emperor Naruhito noted the importance of the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan on the international stage.
The Head of State further congratulated the Emperor of Japan on the successful conclusion of the World Expo 2025. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan’s participation in the exhibition attracted visitors from across the globe and provided an excellent opportunity to familiarize them with the history, culture, and modern achievements of the country.
The Head of State remarked that Japan is a leading nation in terms of new technologies and high industrial output. He emphasized that Turkmenistan, possessing vast natural resources, focuses on Japanese technological solutions and expertise during their rational and efficient development.
Furthermore, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to environmental well-being and is interested in Japanese developments in fields such as "green" energy, water resource management, and ecological technologies.
Reaffirming Turkmenistan's openness to further deepening cooperation with Japan, the President thanked Emperor Naruhito for his significant personal contribution to the development of interstate relations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emperor Naruhito expressed confidence in a long-term strategic partnership across a wide range of areas for the benefit of the Turkmen and Japanese peoples, and exchanged their best wishes.
