Today, at the "Halk Hakydasy" Memorial Complex, situated in one of the capital's scenic districts, National Leader of the Turkmen People and the President of Turkmenistan hosted a sadaka-agzachar (charity Iftar). The event was attended by the Grand Mufti of the country, imams from all provinces and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, venerable elders, wise mothers, and numerous youth. This event, held on the eve of the sacred Night of Omnipotence—Gadyr Gidjesi—serves as a continuation of the noble deeds performed during the holy month of Oraza in the year "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds."
As is well known, Hero-Arkadag recently noted the appropriateness of holding a sadaka-agzachar on the eve of the Night of Omnipotence during the holy month of Oraza, with the participation of respected elders, wise mothers, provincial imams, clergy, and youth.
This serves as a visual testament to the reverence for the noble traditions and customs established by our ancestors throughout history. In this regard, Hajji Arkadag and Arkadagly Hajji Serdar hosted a joint sadaka-agzachar today at the "Halk Hakydasy" Memorial Complex.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Hero-Arkadag, arrived at the venue to mark the arrival of Gadyr Gidjesi. It was noted that holding a charity Iftar on the eve of the Night of Omnipotence multiplies the blessings of this holy month, confirming the commitment of successive generations to virtuous traditions.
Since ancient times, the Turkmen people have treated the month of Oraza with special reverence, considering it sacred. Every day of this month, following the principles of humanism, is filled with good deeds. In accordance with centuries-old traditions, Iftar meals are held in cities and villages, where national dishes are prepared and prayers are offered for the well-being of the country and the happy life of the people.
Throughout their glorious history, our wise ancestors created a rich cultural heritage and national values that serve as an example to the world. Among these, a special place is held by the respectful attitude toward the holy month of Oraza and Gadyr Gidjesi, recognized as a blessed night of mercy and grace. The hosting of the sadaka-agzachar by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag is yet another manifestation of how centuries-old traditions continue in the spirit of the modern era.
The virtuous actions performed during Oraza, especially on the eve of Gadyr Gidjesi, clearly demonstrate the Turkmen people's commitment to humanistic principles. Throughout this month, as in the rest of the Islamic world, our country engages in charitable activities. Giving sadaka-agzachar has become a noble tradition.
Addressing the participants, Hajji Arkadag noted that in our independent Fatherland, all conditions have been created for observing national customs, performing pilgrimages to holy sites, visiting mosques, and offering prayers. He emphasized that today, following the noble traditions of our people, everyone has gathered to break the fast together during the holy month.
"As you know, tomorrow is the sacred Night of Omnipotence," Hajji Arkadag noted, emphasizing that the Turkmen people live with faith in the Almighty and that Islamic values are closely intertwined with our traditions. He wished for the prayers and offerings made during Oraza to be accepted by the Almighty.
Subsequently, the Mufti of Turkmenistan recited the Tebarek prayer, petitioning the Almighty to accept the sadaka-agzachar offered by Hajji Arkadag and Arkadagly Hajji Serdar. This serves as a clear confirmation that national traditions, rooted in the depths of centuries and linking eras and generations, continue today.
The strengthening of the society's spiritual health, the refinement of moral values, and the honoring of historical and cultural heritage are priority directions of the socially oriented state policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Our ancestors considered Oraza the best of months and the Night of Omnipotence the greatest of nights. Today, these values are supported at the state level, which is vital for the harmonious development of society.
Participants were invited to partake in dishes of national cuisine. Upon the conclusion of the meal, the Mufti of Turkmenistan recited the Ayat-Towir prayer.
"May the Almighty accept all recited prayers. Kabul Bolsun!" said Hajji Arkadag, thanking everyone for their participation and wishing the people a prosperous life. The event once again demonstrated the continuity of the traditions of our great ancestors and the spiritual unity of the people.
